Reason # 7 to Switch to LEDs: They Don't Keep Drawing Power When They're Not Turned On

Remember the days of shutting off everything plugged into the surge protector but your utility bill just didn't come down? The next step would always be to completely unplug everything from the wall. Your light fixtures don't have to be one of the things that you unplug all the time. When an LED is turned off, it's off. No ands, ifs or buts about it. Your controls are only supposed to draw about half of a watt of power in the off state, so there shouldn't be any noticeable power usage on your power bill.

There you have it: seven wonderful reasons to switch to LEDs! And ditch the "Dark" ages!
